End of Summer Updates: Filming in California & Several Premieres!

Happy September! Summer is almost over, and I have many things to update you all about. Here they are…

  • In July, I flew to Los Angeles to star in an upcoming horror short! Directed by Truett Killian, it’s called The Vagrant. We filmed the slasher flick in parts of Culver City and Hollywood. Can’t wait for you all to see me as a scream queen.

  • Speaking of scream queens, two horrors I’ve done with directors Jay Palmieri / Andrew Froening have premiered! The first is the feature Soulmate, which premiered at the NJ Horror Con in August. We filmed it back in 2021 and I played the evil Empty Woman. The second is Carvers, which was uploaded to YouTube this month. It is the third installment in Jay’s holiday horror series. I play two characters: Ramona, and a British villain / scream queen named Winnie Potter. I may be working on more holiday horror installments soon!

  • Also on YouTube and Vimeo: a dramatic short I starred in called That First Step (directed by Alex Alessi) and an experimental comedy called Bliss (directed by Sarah Gold, starring Moonrise Kingdom’s Jared Gilman) recently had their online premieres!

  • Additionally, a comedy short film I acted in called When A Blind Man Cries premiered at the Jersey Shorts Showcase at SModcastle Cinemas in August.

  • To conclude the premiere news, Michelle Elise Harding’s Pressed, which I play a supporting role in, aired on a PBS channel in NJ! It was part of a program called The Fish Bowl, and made possible by A Lyte In the Dark Film Festival.

What’s next for me? Besides auditioning and drafting up YouTube sketches, I am currently executive producing, writing, and acting in a web series with Chris Orangeo. The working title is Seven Valentines. We are in the pre-production / casting phase. So excited to start filming in the near future! Until next time,

-Kathryn
